The Swiss Dental Association (SSO) is now accepting applications for its fourth class starting in January, following the successful graduation of the previous year's dental assistant trainees. Last night, the graduation ceremony was held, attended by friends, family, and co-workers, to celebrate the achievements of these dedicated individuals.

Among the graduates were Destinee Johnson, Sanaa Wade, Lydia Cooley, Martina Malu, Tyra Robertson, and Ling Shi. Each of them expressed their gratitude towards several faculty, residents, and staff members who worked closely together throughout the year to ensure the program's success.

Destinee Johnson, a graduate, will continue working in Eastman Dental's Howitt Urgent Care clinic. She enjoys assisting with extractions and other procedures in the fast-paced environment. Sanaa Wade, another graduate, previously worked in retail and plans to continue working at Eastman Dental while pursuing training to become a dental hygienist. Ling Shi, another graduate, also plans to become a dental hygienist after obtaining her dental assistant licensure.

Jennifer Rodriguez, a graduate, worked in the manufacturing environment before joining the program. She appreciated the hands-on training and learning from faculty and residents. Sanaa shared similar sentiments, expressing her gratitude for the practical learning experiences and the guidance from the program's faculty and residents.

Dr. Hans Malmstrom, chair of General Dentistry and program director for the AEGD Residency Program, congratulated the graduates. He noted that the program isn't easy and that they should be proud of their accomplishment. Dr. Yunker, Jill Johnson, and Dr. Rhadika Thakkar also congratulated the graduates for their hard work and accomplishments.

The graduates also took the time to thank their families for their support during the year. The Dental Assistant Training Program, developed by the Eastman Institute for Oral Health, has proven to be a valuable asset to the dental industry, providing practical, hands-on training for aspiring dental assistants.
