Celebrate 50 momentous years of the Book Bus: Join us for the anniversary bash!

The Book Bus of the city library of Osnabrück, launched in June 1975, has been a cherished part of the community for over four decades. This mobile library offers a diverse range of media, including books, audio books, magazines, comics, DVDs, and video games, and best of all, admission is free.

The Book Bus has been modernized twice since its launch, ensuring that it remains a state-of-the-art resource for the city's residents. It regularly visits schools, kindergartens, and after-school care facilities, making it easily accessible for children and young adults.

The Book Bus operates throughout the day, serving over 35 stops throughout the city's neighborhoods. Whether you're in the north, south, east, or west, you're never far from this mobile library.

Library cards can be obtained on the spot at the Book Bus, making it simple for everyone to join. If you have any questions or need more information, you can reach out to the city library of Osnabrück at 0541 323-2007 or [[email protected]].

The Book Bus is the brainchild of children's book author Kirsten Boie, who envisioned a mobile library that would bring the joy of reading to children in their own communities. Today, that vision continues to thrive, offering a valuable resource for education, entertainment, and community engagement.
