Formation of a new government - CDU warned against teaming up with the Greens by Kretschmer.

Earlier this year, Friedrich Merz, who heads the CDU on a federal level, expressed his thoughts on the potential for a black-green coalition at the federal level. In this email he shared with his backers in February, he mentioned both the SPD and the Greens as possible collaborators if a coalition with the FDP didn't suffice. He stated, "Not particularly enticing, but we need a majority able to govern."
