"The Chancellery no longer accommodates neutral individuals" - CDU alleges Kühnert to be misogynistic.
CDU Vice General Secretary Kristina Stumpp (36) has been irritated with her SPD counterpart Kevin Kühnert (34) for some time. Their dispute stems from remarks by the Social Democrat that can be interpreted as disrespectful towards former Chancellor Angela Merkel (69) of the CDU.
In an interview with "t-online" on May 19, Kühnert said, "There's no neutral person in the Chancellery anymore with Olaf Scholz."
While this statement could have been referring to the content, Kühnert clarified, "Anyone who calls low wages 'market-appropriate' or wants to work people until Pentecost is against him and the SPD."
This implies that Scholz is more distinctly defined than his predecessor.
However, Stumpp perceives Kühnert's statements as misogynistic. She criticizes the SPD, stating, "Despite all denials, they keep relying on populism, hate speech, and personal attacks."
Stumpp expects an apology from Kühnert for his choice of words.
Will Kühnert apologize?
Even the person accused by Stumpp has self-identified as a feminist in the past. "I lead the SPD Youth Association, which sees itself as a feminist organization. Feminism is about ensuring women receive equal opportunity in German society and around the globe."
The claim of misogyny seems misplaced in this context.
