Catastrophic crash on A9 highway: large truck slams into deserted camper van, leaving family severely hurt
In a shocking turn of events, a serious accident occurred on the A9 highway near Schwanstetten, involving a truck and a camper van carrying a family.
The incident left the camper van partially destroyed, with half of it becoming lodged in the cab of the truck. Thankfully, the occupants of the two BMW vehicles involved in the accident remained unharmed.
The city fire chief of Allersberg, Thomas Hagenrainer, was present at the scene, along with numerous firefighters from the cities of Allersberg and Hilpoltstein. Several ambulance vehicles also arrived to transport the injured to nearby hospitals.
The truck driver, a 50-year-old individual, was identified at the scene, although the specific company he was representing remains undisclosed in the available reports.
Several units of the traffic police in Feucht were also on the scene, and they are currently appealing for witnesses who may have observed the accident to call 09128 91970.
Regrettably, the extent of the property damage cannot yet be determined. The A9 highway was temporarily closed due to the rescue operations and accident investigation.
