After a comprehensive renovation project spanning over a decade, Schloss Burg is set to reopen its doors to the public. The grand reopening ceremony will take place on Saturday, 6th September 2025, marking the culmination of a 54.65 million euro investment from various sources, including the state, federal government, EU, and the owner cities of Solingen, Remscheid, and Wuppertal.

The event promises an exciting programme for all ages. The day will commence with a panel discussion on the topic of "Renovation", featuring representatives from architectural firms, heritage planning, the castle association, and project management at the city of Solingen.

Following the official part, visitors can join guided tours of the facility, starting at 13:30. The tours will offer a unique opportunity to explore the newly renovated Schloss Burg.

The weekend will also feature a variety of entertainment, including a brass ensemble, street performances, medieval music, magic and juggling acts, and a clown named Peter Shub.

Notably, the event will be attended by mayors from Wuppertal, Solingen, Remscheid, and the President of the District Government of Duesseldorf.

Spontaneous visits to the "Discover Day" on Saturday are not possible, as free entry tickets for specific time slots had to be booked online in advance. However, the "Discover Day" continues on Sunday, 7th September, offering visitors a chance to explore the castle during the festival weekend.

After the festival weekend, Schloss Burg invites visitors to its usual opening hours. Additionally, a new exhibition is currently being set up at the castle, which will be on display in late autumn.

It's important to note that the scaffolding and barriers that have been present at Schloss Burg in recent years are now removed, signifying the completion of the extensive renovation project led by the city of Solingen.

Unfortunately, there is no specific information available about the main person responsible for the renovation of Schloss Burg since 2013.

Following the grand reopening, the castle association offers a varied program, ensuring that Schloss Burg remains a vibrant cultural destination for years to come.
