In a recent visit to the Vindimas Festival in Palmela, the leader of the Communist Party (PCP), Paulo Raimundo, expressed his views on several key issues.

Raimundo criticized the decision to outsource the maintenance of Carris, the public transport company in Lisbon, suggesting that it was a wrong move. He went on to say that the political responsibilities for this outsourcing were broader, implying that both the Socialist Party (PS) and the Social Democratic Party (PSD) share the blame.

The communist leader did not mention the "Russiagate" controversy in his statements, nor did he refer to the recent elevator derailment in Lisbon that resulted in 16 deaths. Instead, he focused on the upcoming municipal elections as an opportunity to "counteract" the "PSD-PS cycle" in the Lisbon City Council.

Raimundo stated that the next municipal elections offer an opportunity to reinforce the position of the CDU in the Lisbon City Council. He expressed confidence in a new victory in the upcoming municipal elections in Palmela, where he has implemented a project that responds to the needs of the populations.

Accompanied by Ana Teresa Vicente, the CDU candidate for the presidency of the Palmela City Council, Raimundo visited several spaces of regional products at the Vindimas Festival in Palmela.

In 2021, Raimundo called for the resignation of Fernando Medina, the then mayor of Lisbon, following the "Russiagate" controversy. However, he did not specify the nature of the controversy in his recent statements.

It is worth noting that there is no information available about the CDU candidate for the presidency of the city administration of Palmela in the municipal elections on October 12, nor about the election results in Palmela in 1974 based on the provided search results.

The final conclusions of the investigations into the elevator derailment are still pending, and Raimundo implied that Carlos Moedas, the current mayor of Lisbon, should have resigned following the tragedy. However, he did not mention Moedas in his statements at the Vindimas Festival.
