Car driver absconds post collision with pedelec rider, inflicting injuries.

On the morning of August 30, 2025, a traffic accident was reported by a 19-year-old from Hamm who was involved in the incident during the night. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown.

Initial findings suggest a collision with a car that fled the scene. The Warendorfer Straße between Ahlen and Toennishauschen was closed for 2.5 hours due to the accident investigation.

A witness reported seeing a heavily damaged, white compact car driving towards Ahlen on the Warendorfer Straße around the same time. However, subsequent searches for the car were unsuccessful.

The car, driver's license, and mobile phone of the 19-year-old were seized during the investigation. Suspicions of drug consumption led to a blood sample being taken on order of the public prosecutor's office.

In the early hours of the same day, an injured e-bike rider was found on the L547, Warendorfer Straße, between Toennishauschen and Ahlen. The e-bike rider, a 16-year-old from Ahlen, was traveling from Toennishauschen towards Ahlen when the accident occurred. The 16-year-old was taken to a hospital by ambulance and was admitted in serious condition.

The accident investigation was continued in the afternoon of August 30, 2025, in cooperation with the accident investigation team of the PP Münster and DEKRA. The reported accident is suspected to be connected to the accident on the Warendorfer Straße in Ahlen.
