Car dealer's TikTok video about selling a vehicle to a single mother for $10,000 more than the sticker price sparked online controversy.

In a recent turn of events, car salesman Tony Powell, who was identified as the employee at Zeigler Honda in Racine, has found himself in hot water after posting a TikTok video claiming he sold a car to a single mother for $10,000 above the sticker price.

The video, which gained thousands of views, was a part of a popular TikTok trend where users explain what has put them in a good mood. However, the intended joke in the video was seen as unrealistic and insensitive by many viewers, leading to a wave of negative reactions and critical reviews for the dealership online.

Kennysells, the car salesman who posted the video, is known for his satirical content on TikTok. He clarified that the video was an insensitive joke and asked viewers to stop attacking the dealership. Despite his clarification, the dealership suspended and later fired Powell in response to the backlash.

Powell, a single parent himself, later posted an apology on his TikTok account. His apology was directed towards single mothers and women in general, expressing his regret for any offence caused.

In a statement on Facebook, Zeigler Honda of Racine distanced themselves from Powell's comments, expressing disappointment in his actions. The dealership values freedom of speech but holds their team members to a high standard of decency, truthfulness, and service. They confirmed the termination of Powell's employment.

The dealership also denied the claim made in the video, stating no such sale had ever taken place. Despite the negative publicity, the dealership continues to serve its customers with integrity and professionalism.
