Car crash on A30 near Osnabrück: Inexperienced driver (19 years old) collides with three vehicles
In an unfortunate incident on Saturday, a multi-vehicle collision occurred on the A30 motorway near Osnabrück. The collision, which involved a Toyota and a Lexus, caused significant traffic delays and required the Osnabrück Police to investigate the accident to determine the exact sequence of events.
The accident took place on the Bad Oeynhausen / Hannover-bound lane, just past the Hellern exit. The wrecked vehicles blocked both lanes, leading to a closure that caused traffic to be rerouted via the hard shoulder. Despite the closure, the police managed to maintain traffic flow to minimise further disruptions.
The collision was caused by a 19-year-old Toyota driver who failed to react in time to braking vehicles. As a result, the Toyota collided with the Lexus from behind, causing severe damage to both vehicles. Both vehicles had to be towed away from the scene.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported for the occupants of the Lexus and the frontmost vehicle. However, a 17-year-old passenger in the Toyota sustained minor injuries in the collision. Two other passengers in the Toyota, of similar age, were examined by paramedics but found to be uninjured. The 19-year-old Toyota driver was reported to be in shock after the accident.
The Osnabrück Police are currently investigating the accident to determine the exact sequence of events. Search results do not provide information about the driver of the Toyota involved in the accident. The police are urging anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
The incident caused traffic delays for several hours, but the situation was eventually brought under control. The police are reminding drivers to always maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front and to be aware of their surroundings to avoid similar incidents in the future.
