Car collision causes extensive property damage and leaves one individual hurt - Incident Report: 2504112 (Political Section)
On April 29, 2025, at around 3:30 PM, a three-vehicle collision occurred in Ratingen-Schwarzbach. The incident involved a Mercedes-Benz, a Ford C-Max, and a VW Polo.
According to the police department, the Mercedes-Benz was attempting to turn left into a driveway when it collided with the VW Polo. The 21-year-old driver from Düsseldorf, who was driving the Ford C-Max, failed to notice that the VW Polo in front of her had to brake due to traffic, resulting in a rear-end collision.
Fortunately, all parties involved in the accident were unharmed, except for the Erkrath driver, who sustained minor injuries and was taken to the hospital for further treatment. Both the Ford and the VW were severely damaged and had to be towed away. The Mercedes-Benz, however, remained driveable.
The total damage is estimated to be at least €26,000. The Knittkuhler Straße was temporarily closed in one direction towards Düsseldorf for the duration of the accident investigation.
