Fatal Accident on A7 near Kalbach: Investigations Ongoing
A tragic incident occurred on Friday on the A7 highway near Kalbach in the Fulda district. At around 15:45, a 52-year-old man driving a Peugeot 308 collided with a stationary truck, resulting in a fatal accident.
The truck driver, a 40-year-old man, was uninjured in the crash. The 52-year-old man unfortunately lost his life at the scene. The accident caused significant damage, with the total estimated cost estimated to be around 50,000 euros.
The closure of the entire highway resulted in a significant disruption to traffic. The southbound lane was closed until approximately 5:00 PM to allow for investigation and clearance of the scene. Traffic was diverted as a result of the closure.
The public prosecutor's office in Fulda has ordered a specialist to assist the officers investigating the accident. However, no information has been given about the cause of the crash.
