Car accident in Germantown, Md. causes minimal injuries at a grocery store, according to authorities' reports
In an unexpected turn of events, a Lexus crashed into an Aldi grocery store in Germantown, Maryland, on Tuesday evening around 5:40 PM. The incident occurred in the shopping center in the 20900 block of Frederick Road off Shakespeare Boulevard.
According to Pete Piringer, the Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Service spokesman, the ALDI store sustained structural damage as a result of the crash. Two people were being evaluated for minor injuries, but thankfully, no one was seriously injured in the incident.
The name of the person responsible for the accident has not been publicly disclosed. The police are not providing updates on the progress of the investigation, and no further information about the driver of the Lexus is available at this time.
The incident is still under investigation, and a building inspector has been requested to assess the extent of the damage to the store. It's worth noting that the incident does not appear to be related to Aldi's multi-billion expansion plans, which include plans for more than 800 new stores across the United States. The locations for these new stores have not been specified.
Despite the incident, Aldi remains committed to its growth strategy. The company has not yet provided a timeline for its expansion.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder to stay safe on the roads, especially in busy shopping areas. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as more information becomes available.
