On Thursday afternoon, a multi-vehicle accident on Autobahn 3 near km 144.3 in the direction of Würzburg caused significant traffic disruptions and a queue up to 8 kilometers long.

The incident, which took place in the Gemarkung Niedernhausen, involved three cars: a Chevrolet, a Toyota, and a Tesla. According to reports, the driver of the Chevrolet failed to notice the stopped traffic and collided with the Toyota at the end of the queue. The impact was so severe that the Chevrolet also hit the median barrier during the collision.

As a result, the driver of the Chevrolet and six other individuals were lightly injured and taken to nearby hospitals for further examination. Unfortunately, the details about the driver of the Chevrolet and their hospital admission could not be ascertained at the time of this report.

The accident resulted in the closure of two lanes on Autobahn 3 for approximately two hours. This closure also caused traffic disruptions on the opposite lane, with a queue up to 12 kilometers long due to onlookers.

Two of the cars involved in the accident were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The estimated material damage is approximately 15,000 euros.
