Capturing Unprecedented Perspectives at Deichtorhallen: "Stunning Scenery All Around"
The much-anticipated "Gute Aussichten - Young German Photography" exhibition is set to run from September 9th to November 6th at the Deichtorhalls/Phoxxi. This prestigious competition, initiated in 2004 by Josefine Raab and Stefan Becht, has become one of the most significant photography competitions worldwide for young photographers.
Each year, the project serves as a "resonance chamber", reflecting societal themes and stylistic trends, as described by its founder, Josefine Raab. This year, the exhibition features two years' worth of winners from "Gute Aussichten", showcasing the current state of young photography and presenting it to the public in major exhibition halls.
The exhibition includes works by BΓ©la Avi Beinhold, Massimiliano Corteselli, Lea Greub, Matthias Grund, Lia Lehmkuhl, Denisa Poteca, Maya Vieth, Mathilde Tijen Hansen, Kyu Sang Lee, Clarita Maria, NiKA, Robin C. Wolf, and Larissa Zauser. Some of the awarded projects include Massimiliano Corteselli's "Contrapasso", Matthias Grund's "Other Images", and Clarita Maria's "Ichibukisho - Act of Memory".
Visiting hours at Deichtorhalls/Phoxxi are Tuesday to Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm, with extended hours on the first Thursday of the month until 9 pm. Admission to the exhibition is 9 Euros.
More information about the exhibition can be found on the Deichtorhallen website (http://deichtorhallen.de). The WochenMOPO, a culture and events supplement, also provides valuable information about the exhibition. It can be found every Friday at the kiosk, and a favorable trial subscription is available at https://www.mopo.de/abo.
In addition to the exhibition, Plan7, the culture and inspiration supplement in the new WochenMOPO, offers 28 pages of culture and inspiration for free time, including daily culture tips, food recommendations, and interviews, as well as prize draws for concerts, readings, shows, and more.
"Gute Aussichten" remains the only nationwide competition that showcases young photographers in the best exhibition halls in Germany. The project aims to provide a kaleidoscopic overview of the artistic potential of young photography talent, capturing the current state of young photography and presenting it to the public. We eagerly await the new winners of the "Gute Aussichten" competition each year.
