Canine Officer Harry conducting a search within a concealed drug facility.
In a significant operation named "Focus Control," the Dortmund Police Presidium, in collaboration with the Police Dog Unit of Duisburg, disrupted an illegal cannabis trade in the city. The operation took place on Thursday afternoon, 28th August, in Lessing Street, Dortmund.
The search, led by a drug-sniffing dog named "Harry," was focused on so-called "drug bunkers" hidden within a cluttered courtyard. Harry, a dedicated member of the police force, proved his worth by discovering a drug bunker during the operation.
As a result of the search, a known drug dealer was found with cannabis, and the officers secured the remaining amount found during the operation. A Dortmund resident, whose name has not been disclosed, now faces a criminal trial for the illegal trafficking of cannabis.
The resident was released from the scene after the police procedures were completed, and there were no special circumstances to warrant a remand in custody.
Several residents reported to the officers that a backyard in Lessing Street was being used as a drug storage facility, leading to the initiation of the operation.

Harry, the diligent drug-sniffing dog, was rewarded for his successful search during the operation. The Dortmund Police continue their efforts to maintain a safe and drug-free environment for the city's residents.
