Canine Cleanup in Solingen's Heath Marks Conclusion of Swimming Season
The Heidebad, a popular location in Solingen, Germany, is gearing up for an exciting change as the dog swimming season comes to an end. From September 10 to 14, and again from September 17 to 21, the Heidebad will transform into a dog's paradise, offering daily swimming sessions from 12 to 6 pm.
Located within the Heidebad complex, the Vogelsang Family Bath has been a highlight of the summer season, attracting a significant number of visitors. This year, the Vogelsang Family Bath saw an average of approximately 27,000 visitors during the summer months, with a peak of 2,700 people on June 22 alone. The bath has experienced high demand, leading to an entry stop at certain times due to its limited capacity of 199 guests simultaneously.
Despite the high visitor numbers, specific information about the visitor counts during the dog-friendly events was not provided. However, it is known that the Solingen Baths Society, which oversees the Heidebad, has drawn up a balance of this year's season. The society's report for 2025 does not provide information about the responsible persons who created the visitor statistics report for the Heidebad or the Vogelsang Family Bath.
Apart from the dog-friendly events, the Heidebad has been a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. The summer season concluded with dog swimming, and now, the focus shifts towards the upcoming "Dog-friendly Market" on September 21, which will take place on the premises of the Heidebad.
While the exact visitor numbers for the dog-friendly events remain undisclosed, it is clear that the Heidebad and the Vogelsang Family Bath have been popular destinations this summer, with visitor numbers slightly below last year's 29,000 but significantly higher than the 25,500 in 2023. The Vogelsang Family Bath is currently seeing around ten percent more visitors than it did in the same period of the previous year.
As the Heidebad prepares for its canine transformation, it continues to be a beloved destination for both humans and their furry friends.
