Canada's Spring 2026 Poker Boom Kicks Off with Record Wins and $5.5M Guarantees
Spring 2026 brings a busy poker schedule across Canada, with major tournaments set for Regina, Montreal, Calgary, and Niagara. Among the highlights, Brett Goodall recently claimed victory in Casino Niagara's $1,200 Main Event, securing his biggest career win to date.
Goodall topped a field of 678 players at Casino Niagara, earning $127,264. His previous best result came in 2025, when he finished third in the WSOPC Toronto Seniors event for $14,929. Anderson Frank-Graham took second place this time, pocketing $89,225βthe largest score of his poker career.
The spring calendar kicks off with Casino Regina's Station Poker Classic from March 17-21. Buy-ins range from $500 to $1,800, offering a mix of affordable and mid-stakes events.
Just days later, Playground in Montreal hosts its first WSOP Circuit series, running from March 23 to April 7. The series guarantees over $5.5 million in prize money, including a $2.5 million Main Event. This marks the venue's debut as part of the WSOP Circuit, drawing expected interest from regional and international players.
Deerfoot Calgary follows with its Spring Super Stack series from April 8-19. The $1,500 Main Event will be the centrepiece of the festival.
Finally, Casino Niagara returns in May with its Spring Main Event from May 19-22. The tournament will feature Ontario's largest prize pools of the first half of 2026, though exact guarantees have yet to be announced.
No other major high-prize tournaments are currently scheduled for spring 2026 in Canada beyond these four locations.
Goodall's win at Niagara sets a strong tone for the upcoming series in Regina, Montreal, and Calgary. With guaranteed prize pools exceeding $5.5 million at Playground alone, players will have multiple opportunities to compete for significant payouts. The spring season also confirms Niagara's position as a key destination for Ontario's poker community.
