Cam Stewart conquers Pure Poker Tour's high-stakes main event
Cam Stewart has taken down the Pure Poker Tour (PPT) main event after a tense final table. The victory came following a heads-up battle against chip leader Travis Darroch. Stewart's win also secured him the top spot in the Player of the Series race.
The final table began with Travis Darroch holding a commanding lead of over 2,000,000 chips. Early momentum shifted when Nadeen Narayan doubled up, balancing the stack sizes. Back-to-back Pure Player of the Year winner Pav Braich, who had previously joined Tom Vogelsang and Linus Loeliger as champions, exited in 12th place.
Stewart steadily built his stack, reaching the third-largest by the first break. His position strengthened further as Robert Limpert and Stefan Maloney were knocked out. Sheraz Nasir fell in 4th after losing a crucial hand to Darroch.
Nu Teliani's elimination in 3rd set the stage for a heads-up clash between Stewart and Darroch. Stewart ultimately outlasted his opponent to claim the title.
The win marks Stewart's first PPT main event victory. He now leads the Player of the Series standings with the highest point total. The result adds another name to the list of champions in the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series.
