This winter, East London will welcome a new addition to its dining scene. Cafe Kowloon, a modern Cantonese kitchen, will open its doors in the heart of Soho's Wardour Street. The restaurant aims to bring the lively spirit of Hong Kong's food culture to the neighbourhood.
Cafe Kowloon marks the first step beyond Taiwanese cuisine for 6 of 1, a growing hospitality group. Founded by Frank Yeung and Abhinav Malde, the company focuses on modern dining experiences that prioritise both customer satisfaction and staff well-being. This human-first approach will shape the new venue, backed by a team of passionate professionals.
The menu will showcase Hong Kong's diverse and ever-changing food traditions. Traditional Cantonese dishes will receive a contemporary twist, reflecting the city's dynamic culinary identity. At the front of the site, an 18-seat bar called Wonton Charlie's will specialise in wonton noodle soup. Yeung and Malde have expressed excitement about joining the local community. Their goal is to create a space that feels both authentic and fresh, blending Hong Kong's energy with East London's vibrant atmosphere.
The opening of Cafe Kowloon will introduce a new taste of Cantonese cuisine to the area. With its mix of modern dishes and a dedicated team, the restaurant is set to become a notable spot in Soho. The venue's arrival also expands 6 of 1's presence in London's competitive dining landscape.
