Caesars Entertainment Enhances Dedication to Gambling Responsibly

Caesars Entertainment is stepping up its measures to promote responsible gaming. The aim is to prevent consumers from spending excessive time on their gaming platforms, both on-site and online, across the nation.

Coordinating with March being recognized as National Problem Gambling Awareness Month – an annual campaign led by the National Council on Problem Gambling – Caesars officials are planning to implement several new guidelines. The operators of Caesars Palace and Harrah’s are broadening their self-exclusion policy and restricting access to their casinos only to individuals aged 21 and above.

While most states require gamblers to be at least 21 years old, some tribal casinos, which Caesars operates on behalf of Native American tribes, allow access for individuals as young as 18.

starting soon, Caesars will deny entry to underage individuals at all its North American properties, disregarding state or tribal laws. Casinos under the Caesars Entertainment umbrella will also bar registration for their loyalty program, Caesars Rewards, for anyone below the legal drinking age.

CEO of Caesars Entertainment, Tom Reeg, commented, "As the largest gaming company in North America, we consider it our duty to create an environment centered on responsible gaming. We take this responsibility seriously, and these new policies demonstrate our commitment."

Full-scale Exclusion

Caesars Entertainment's revised self-exclusion program is touted as one of the gaming industry's most extensive universal exclusion policies. When a gambler expresses that playing is no longer entertaining or has become irrational, Caesars' Responsible Gaming Ambassadors will help them register for the company’s exclusion program.

This one-time exclusion initiative will allow patrons to prohibit themselves not only from their local property or a state exclusion program through the mobile app but also from all casinos, racinos, sportsbooks, online gaming platforms, and other gaming venues operated by Caesars Entertainment, in a single step.

Reeg stated, "We are thrilled that when a person decides that playing with us is no longer beneficial, we will be able to guarantee that they are excluded from all gaming platforms offered by us, in one simple step. Given our widespread presence and the wide range of products we offer, we are confident that restricting access to all gaming options and our Caesars Rewards database, including those options that were previously accessible to individuals over 18, will benefit our company and our community."

Caesars Entertainment owns and manages over 50 properties globally, with the majority located in the US and North America. The company also operates iGaming in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and online sportsbooks in over a dozen states.

Self-set Limits

Caesars Entertainment's full-scale exclusion program will grant players the ability to decide the duration of their self-imposed ban. The company states that standard timeframes are one year, five years, or forever.

Individuals under exclusion are allowed to request removal from the self-exclusion list once their self-selected exclusion period has ended. A self-exclusion request is permanent during the selected time period.

Once the exclusion period has expired, Caesars says patrons can seek the resumption of their gaming privileges by completing a reinstatement form.
