Community Support for School Children
Two West End businesses, Movement in Science and D1 Training Alexandria, have shown their support for Alexandria's school children by donating school supplies to Patrick Henry K-8 School. The donated supplies, collected throughout August and donated by customers, include backpacks, notebooks, and other classroom essentials. Tom Fukuda, owner of D1 Training, stated that the initiative reflects their broader mission of helping kids build strength and confidence. Kendra Pena-Collazo, owner of Movement in Science, said the donation is part of her business's commitment to education and empowerment.
Alexandria School Board member Donna Kenley and Principal Kenard Robinson received the donation, which was delivered to the West End school on Thursday afternoon with support from the West End Business Association (WEBA). This donation is an example of the support from Alexandria's business community for school children. The Alexandria School Board looks forward to ongoing collaboration with West End businesses.
