Businesses in the startup sector anticipate expanding their workforce, as per a recent Bitkom study.

The German startup scene is showing signs of recovery, according to a recent survey conducted by Bitkom Research, the research arm of the digital association Bitkom. The survey, which gathered data from 152 tech startups in Germany, suggests a potential trend of growth and expansion in the industry.

The survey results indicate a continued trend of new hiring, with each startup surveyed currently having an average of two vacancies to fill. This is a positive sign, indicating a potential recovery trend for the German startup scene.

The survey also provides insight into the expectations of these young tech companies for their employee numbers in 2025. Three-quarters (75 percent) of startups expect their employee count to increase, while only 2 percent anticipate a decline. This optimistic outlook for the employment situation in German startups is further supported by the fact that HR issues are once again becoming more of a focus for many founders.

Ralf Wintergerst, the President of Bitkom, has made a statement regarding the survey results. He acknowledged the positive outlook provided by the survey, suggesting a shift in focus from economic uncertainty to growth and expansion in the startup industry.

However, it's important to note that while the survey provides a meaningful snapshot of the mood within the tech industry, it is not representative. Nonetheless, the survey results indicate that the startup industry is optimistic about its future growth and is focusing on expanding its workforce.

The survey results also indicate a decrease in the average number of employees in German startups. The average number of employees, including founders, currently stands at 13, down from 15 a year ago. This decrease, however, is not indicative of a decline in the industry but rather a sign of new hiring and growth.

In conclusion, the survey results suggest a positive outlook for the German startup scene, with a focus on growth, expansion, and new hiring. The industry appears to be optimistic about its future, with HR issues once again becoming a priority for many founders. The survey results provide a promising glimpse into the future of the German startup scene.
