Burkina Faso's LONAB Launches Mock Audit Ahead of Certification
Burkina Faso's state-run gambling operator, LONAB, has begun a mock audit to prepare for its first official certification. The exercise started on March 16, 2026, and will assess operations across several key locations. The process involves a partnership with the Burkinabe Association of Quality Management (ABMAQ).
The mock audit will run until March 20, 2026, covering multiple LONAB sites. These include the corporate headquarters, the Main Agency in Ouagadougou, the Koudougou branch, and the Ouaga 3 agency in Tanghin. The review will impact various lines of business within the gambling sector.
The audit team will use interviews, document checks, and direct observations to gather data. All collected information will remain confidential. The goal is to identify weaknesses and refine processes before the official evaluation in April 2026. Mr. Ibrahim Ben Harouna ZARANI, LONAB's Director General, stressed the importance of the exercise. He urged full staff participation to ensure a smooth and effective audit. A final report will later outline LONAB's strengths and areas needing improvement.
The mock audit marks LONAB's first step toward formal certification. Findings will guide adjustments before the official review next month. The process aims to strengthen internal practices and ensure compliance with quality standards.
