In a series of events, Offenbach am Main and the A3 motorway in Southeast Hesse have been the scene of several incidents over the past few days.

On the A3 motorway between the junctions Obertshausen and Hanau, a traffic accident involving three vehicles occurred on Tuesday afternoon. The Peugeot driver, apparently not able to react in time, clipped the rear of a stationary truck, causing significant traffic congestion and a backup. The driver of a preceding truck had to brake to a standstill due to traffic. The Seat driver, unable to brake in time, collided with the truck. Both drivers, a 35-year-old and a 36-year-old, were injured and taken to hospitals for further medical treatment.

The accident caused damage estimated at 53,000 euros. Witnesses of the accident are still asked to call the number 06181 9010-0 at the police headquarters Southeast Hesse.

In a separate incident, an 84-year-old was taken to a clinic with severe head injuries on Tuesday in Schloßgartenstraße, Offenbach am Main. The police are investigating the background of the incident.

A burglary occurred in a multi-family house in Friedhofstraße, Offenbach am Main, between 5 and 21 hours on Tuesday. The perpetrators gained access to the ground floor apartment by pushing up the blind of the terrace door and smashing the glass behind it. Jewelry and cash were stolen. Witnesses of the burglary are asked to call the number 069 8098-1234 at the Criminal Police.

In another development, a theft occurred on Tuesday afternoon on the playground in the Quartierspark in the Mathildenviertel, Offenbach am Main. An unknown woman, approximately 1.70 meters tall, female, about 50 years old, slim figure and bald, took the bag hanging on the stroller of the victim. The stolen bag contained, among other things, the wallet of an Offenbach resident and children's utensils. Tips on the theft can be given to the police station in Offenbach under the number 069 8098-5100.

A suspected copper thief was apprehended by chance in an apartment in August-Hecht-Straße, Offenbach am Main. The 35-year-old suspect had copper cables worth a high four-digit amount in his possession. A criminal proceeding is now pending against him, among other things, on suspicion of theft.

In a tragic incident, a passenger died in a hospital after a severe traffic accident on Wednesday morning in the area of the Seligenstadt junction. The police are investigating the background of the accident and asking witnesses to call the number 069 8098-5100.
