Emilio on "Sing My Song" - Bullying victim turns into a shooting star.
During the exchange concert, his peers compliment him repeatedly, with the term "superstar" often being referenced. Johannes Oerding (42), host of the event, praises him; "He resonates well with young people through his music." Sammy Amara (44), frontman of 'Broilers,' adds, "He's a blend of coolness and a lot of talent."
Talking between his cover performances, Emilio shares snippets of his personal life. Born to Moroccan-Serbian parents, he spent his childhood with his mother in Berlin-Charlottenburg after the divorce. He reflects on his relationship with his father: "My dad was mostly absent from my life at a young age. However, we get along quite well now." He also talks about his close bond with his mother.

Emilio mentions having several half-siblings and shares that his school life was difficult. "I was never particularly popular at school. I can't quite put my finger on why," adds the artist. He recalls experiencing bullying while in secondary school: "My long hair made me a target for bullies who labelled me a nerdy type."

He was unable to maintain a relationship with his first girlfriend. Shortly after they moved in together, she called off their romance. Today, Emilio reflects, "When you're young, you're impulsive and make plans for things that haven't fully formed yet." He channeled this heartbreak into the song "Touché."

Though he has built a successful career in acting, making his breakthrough in the 2010 movie "Zeiten ändern sich" as young Bushido, and starring as the lead for four "Bibi & Tina" films (2014-2017), Emilio's true passion lies in music. Speaking at the exchange concert, he narrates his struggles in breaking into the music industry: "It was tough for me to establish myself as a musician. People used to mock me with, 'Here comes the actor-turned-musician.'"

Gathering a massive fanbase, he now performs for thousands. Two albums are to his credit. At the event, Oerding picked Emilio's song "Ausmacht." Eko Fresh (40), a rapper, moves Emilio to tears at the event by singing a modified version of "Bisschen allein." The song touches on one-night stands and wanting true commitment. The slight alterations Eko made focused on his family life, prompting tears from Emilio: "I could really feel it." Emilio has been in a steady relationship for two years and has a son.
