Building Collapse in Residential Area of Kalyan: Four Injured, Seven Trapped

In a tragic incident, a lift collapsed in the Royce Galaxy residential building in Kalyan's Gandhari area on Saturday night. The incident occurred between 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm during the Ganpati festivities.

The lift collapse took place when the lift was on its way down from the eighth floor to the sixth floor. As a result, at least seven people were stranded in the lift, and four of them were reported injured. One of the injured individuals reported that around seven to eight people were inside the lift at the time of the incident.

Residents of the area rushed to the scene after hearing a loud crash. A watchman was the first to raise the alarm about the lift incident. The rescue effort, initiated by the residents, lasted approximately 30 minutes.

Two others had minor injuries, and doctors at a nearby private hospital confirmed that two people suffered leg fractures. The exact number of people rescued or the extent of their injuries was not specified in the report. No complaints have been lodged by the building society or any individuals as of the report.

The Assistant Police Inspector of Khadakpada police station confirmed the incident. The overload pressure that caused the elevator collapse was triggered by multiple people inside the elevator. The further investigation into the lift incident is ongoing.

The group of individuals were visiting a Ganpati idol on the eighth floor at the time of the incident. Despite the unfortunate incident, the spirit of the festivities continued in the area.

The residents of Royce Galaxy and the surrounding areas hope for a swift resolution to the investigation and the implementation of safety measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
