Bridge renovation ongoing at Mohns Park, features wood construction

Mohns Park is set to undergo a transformation as the small wooden bridge within the park will be replaced starting on Monday, August 28, 2025. The project, expected to take approximately two weeks, will see the installation of a new wooden bridge on the existing steel supports.

During the construction, walkers may face potential restrictions, as the paths in the park will change slightly. The wooden planks, substructure, and railing of the bridge will be replaced to ensure the new bridge is secure and visually appealing, harmonizing with the park's image.

Silt removal will occur in the area of the bridge and a small adjacent pond section during the construction. To maintain the park's aesthetic, the steel supports will remain and receive new corrosion protection if necessary.

The shoreline will also be stabilized during the construction. The project's completion date is not specified beyond approximately two weeks from the commencement date, which is in the month of September, 2025.

It's worth noting that the name of the company responsible for the renovation has not been disclosed. Additionally, the exact number of days for the project's duration has not been specified, but it is expected to be within the same calendar year, 2025.

Silt removal and shoreline stabilization are also part of the project, aiming to enhance the overall appearance of the park and the newly renovated bridge. Visitors are advised to plan their visits accordingly, as the replacement of the bridge will result in a closure for two weeks.
