Brandenburg's Bold New Feminist Art Exhibition Debuts in March 2026

Brandenburg an der Havel will host the first female art brandenburg (fab) in March 2026. This new exhibition and laboratory format showcases contemporary art by local and regional artists. The event kicks off on International Women's Day with a launch party featuring live music from The Broken Tones.

fab takes inspiration from the city's annual Women's Weeks, held every March. The 2026 edition adopts the Brandenburg Women's Policy Council motto: 'WTF โ€“ Rage Meets Feminism'. Running from March 11 to 15, the exhibition will explore themes of rage, movement, and feminist perspectives. Visitors can engage with works addressing boundary violations, invisibility, and structural inequalities.

The exhibition opens daily from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Kunsthalle Brennabor. Alongside the artworks, three workshops will offer hands-on experiences. Angelika Hirschmรผller leads a Textile Workshop on Images of Women, while Christel Tietge's Voice Workshop focuses on Strong and Present. Bettina Engel's Dance Workshop, Daring to Embrace Rage, completes the programme.

fab aims to create a space for experimentation and dialogue. The organisers want to amplify diverse feminist voices and artistic approaches. By fostering exchange, they hope to challenge norms and increase visibility for women in the arts.

The launch takes place on March 8, 2026, at 3:00 PM, followed by five days of exhibitions and workshops. fab positions itself as a bold platform for feminist art in Brandenburg. The event invites the public to reflect on societal issues through creative expression.
