Brandenburg BSW Association Appoints Crumbach as Its New Leader
In a significant shift for the political landscape in Brandenburg, Robert Crumbach, a judge at the Labor Court in Brandenburg an der Havel, has been elected as the chairman of the Brandenburg state chapter of the Alliance Sarah Wagenknecht. The election took place during the first official meeting of the chapter, held on May 25 in Schwed.
Crumbach, who was a member of the SPD for 40 years before his election, marks a departure from the chapter's previous affiliation with the SPD. His election signifies a new political alignment within the BSW Brandenburg.
Stefan Roth, the state manager of the BSW Brandenburg, was also re-elected during the meeting, receiving 100% of the votes. Roth previously served in the state executive of The Left in Brandenburg and worked in the Bundestag.
The BSW Brandenburg is the fourth state chapter of the party, following Thuringia, Saxony, and Saarland. The organization currently has a total of 36 members. The head of the BSW regional group Brandenburg is RenΓ© Pannen, and the group has a total of approximately 200 members.
The founding meeting was held behind closed doors and was attended by 33 Brandenburg members of the BSW. The Brandenburg state chapter of the Alliance Sarah Wagenknecht was founded on May 25 in Schwed.
Robert Crumbach, aged 61, expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I am honoured to be elected as the chairman of the Brandenburg state chapter of the Alliance Sarah Wagenknecht. I look forward to working with our dedicated members to advance our progressive policies and make a positive impact in Brandenburg."
