BPOLI EBB Report: Rescued Migrants Found in Distress
On the evening of August 25, 2025, a significant incident took place at the train station in Bautzen, Germany. A group of six Afghans, aged between 16 and 26, were apprehended by the Federal Police for illegal entry and smuggling.
The individuals were discovered to have entered the country illegally and had purchased invalid train tickets to Dresden at the GΓΆrlitz station. Due to their invalid tickets, they were forced to leave the train in Bautzen.
The Federal Police Inspectorate Ebersbach, responsible for the investigation, was involved in the apprehension of the individuals. Alfred Klaner, the press spokesperson for the Bundespolizei-Inspektion Ebersbach, confirmed the incident.
The Federal Police initiated investigations for the smuggling of foreigners, illegal entry, and illegal residence. The men could not present any documents legitimizing their stay in Germany.
Following their apprehension, the Afghans were handed over to an initial reception facility or the youth welfare office. One of the men was returned to Poland.
