BPOLD-B: Nose fracture following joint trauma injury
In an unprecedented incident, two Polish nationals have been arrested by the Federal Police in Berlin-Mitte on Monday evening. The arrests were made after the men allegedly assaulted another man in an S-Bahn train, resulting in the victim's nose being broken.
The incident occurred on S-Bahn line 9 around 21:20. The intoxicated attackers were arrested at Berlin-Alexanderplatz station. The 53-year-old accused was found to have violated the entry ban to Germany, a fact revealed during the investigation. His right to freedom of movement was revoked in 2017.
The 27-year-old man, along with the 53-year-old, is under investigation by the Federal Police for dangerous bodily harm. The breath alcohol content of both men was found to be 3.24% and 3.78% respectively.
Following the arrest, the duo was transported to the central detention facility of the Berlin Police for a blood test ordered by the Berlin Public Prosecutor's Office. After the blood test, the men were released from the central detention facility.
A criminal procedure has been initiated against the 53-year-old on suspicion of illegal residence. The investigation and criminal procedure are being conducted by the Federal Police.
