Bose Unveils Enhanced QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, Boasting Advanced Noise Cancellation and Minor Upgrades
New Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones: Enhanced Noise Canceling and More
Bose has unveiled the second-generation of its popular QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, offering improved noise canceling and several new features. The new headphones come in four color options: driftwood sand, midnight violet, black, and white smoke.
Prices for the new headphones remain unchanged, with both the new Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones and Sony's WH-1000XM6 priced at $449. This is a $50 increase from the original QuietComfort Ultra Headphones, which have been on sale for $379, but were initially priced at $379.
The new Bose headphones boast impressive noise canceling capabilities, rivaling that of Sony's WH-1000XM6. They also feature improved adaptive noise cancellation with a new algorithm. Another notable improvement is the battery life, rated for up to 30 hours, and the ability to charge during use via the USB-C port.
In addition, the new headphones now support wired audio listening using a USB-C cable. If laid flat, they will disconnect Bluetooth and go into a low-power standby mode in seconds. A new immersive-audio Cinema Mode is also included, delivering clear dialogue and a wide, externalized sound stage.
However, it appears that the Trump administration's tariffs may have influenced the price increase of headphones, including the QuietComfort Ultra Headphones. Bose takes responsibility for the development of the improved headphones, having continuously developed enhanced active noise cancellation algorithms and other technical improvements for the second generation of these headphones.
The new Bose QuietComfort Ultra Headphones can be turned on and off more reliably through on-head detection alone. As for potential sound improvements, while no specific adjustments have been mentioned, Bose has room for tuning adjustments in the future.
Preorders for the second-generation QuietComfort Ultra Headphones are now available. Whether you're looking for superior noise canceling, long battery life, or a range of color options, these new headphones from Bose are worth considering.
