Gladbach Struggles Continue as Sporting Director Expresses Frustration

Borussia Mönchengladbach's sporting director, Roland Virkus, is seeking to boost the team's morale following a disappointing start to the season. The team's latest setback came in the form of a 0:1 loss to VfB Stuttgart, a result that has left them with just one point in the Bundesliga.

The decisive goal in the match was scored by Chema Andrés in the 79th minute, and according to Virkus, it was too easy to give away. The goal came from a set piece, an area that Virkus believes should be defended standardly.

The loss to VfB Stuttgart marked Gladbach's second defeat of the season, following their 0:0 draw against newcomers Hamburger SV in the first round. Despite their struggles, Gladbach has not managed to score a single goal so far this season.

However, Virkus is not resting on his laurels. In an attempt to strengthen the squad, he has completed the permanent transfer of Julian Weigl to a Saudi Pro League club, and Gio Reyna was signed permanently from Borussia Dortmund. Yannik Engelhardt was also brought in on loan from the Italian Serie A to bolster the team's ranks.

Despite these moves, Virkus is still frustrated about the team's performance, particularly the ease with which they conceded the decisive goal against VfB Stuttgart. He is hopeful that the new additions will provide the boost needed to turn the team's fortunes around and secure their first win of the season.

Gladbach will be hoping to put their disappointing start behind them when they take to the field again in their next match. With the new signings settling in and Virkus's call for improved morale, there is optimism that the team can turn their season around and challenge for a place in the top half of the table.
