BMW PGA Championship Returns to Wentworth Club

The BMW PGA Championship, one of the most prestigious events on the DP World Tour, is set to take place at the Wentworth Club (West Course) in Virginia Water, Surrey, England from September 11 to 14, 2025.

This year's tournament promises to be an exciting one, with a host of top golfers set to compete. Rory McIlroy will be the main headliner, while Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton, Hideki Matsuyama, Joaquin Niemann, Dean Burmester, Patrick Reed, and Brooks Koepka are among the big names participating.

One of the players to watch out for is Corey Conners, who is making his debut at the BMW PGA Championship this week. Conners, who has had a successful season with seven top 10s on the PGA Tour, is one of the picks to win the tournament, with odds of +3500, according to BetMGM. The West Course at Wentworth Club suits Conners' game, as it rewards great ball striking.

Another player to keep an eye on is Tommy Fleetwood, who is making his first start following his Tour Championship victory. Fleetwood has been one of the most consistent performers over the past six months and finished T12th and 6th in his last two starts at the BMW PGA Championship.

Justin Rose, who won last month at the FedEx. St Jude Championship, is also expected to challenge at the BMW PGA Championship. Although Rose has never won at the event, he has a great record, with two runners-up finishes and five other top-12s.

Matt Wallace is another player to watch out for, having finished runner-up at the recent Omega European Masters. Wallace is expected to challenge again at Wentworth, where he finished T12th last year.

The course record is (-10) 62, shared by Robert Karlsson (2010), Thomas Bjorn (2014), and Alex Noren (2017). The course, which was established in 1922, has a par of 72 and a yardage of 7,267.

The BMW PGA Championship has been hosted 45 times, and this year's event will include 11 members of Europe's Ryder Cup team. Billy Horschel returns to compete after right hip surgery and will defend his BMW PGA Championship title.

Bernd Wiesberger is also expected to participate in the tournament, although he missed the cut early in the tournament last year. A full list of participants is not provided in the available sources.

The BMW PGA Championship is the DP World Tour's flagship event, and it promises to be an exciting and closely contested tournament this year. Outright winner odds, as provided by BetMGM, include Jon Rahm (+650), Rory McIlroy (+650), Tommy Fleetwood (+1100), and several other players.
