On a sunny Labour Day, the Toronto Blue Jays secured a hard-fought victory against the Milwaukee Brewers in a thrilling matinee game.

The Blue Jays got off to a strong start in the first inning, with Ernie Clement and Nathan Lukes each driving in runs, followed by Lukes' two-run double. Myles Straw added to the Blue Jays' lead in the fifth inning with a two-run single.

In the second inning, George Springer extended the Blue Jays' advantage with a double that drove in a run. Tyler Heineman also contributed with an RBI double in the fifth inning. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. sealed the deal in the fourth inning, driving in the go-ahead run with a single.

The Brewers, however, refused to give up easily. In the third inning, Brice Turang and William Contreras each hit solo home runs, with Contreras' home run scoring Jackson Chourio.

On the mound, Chris Bassitt started for the Blue Jays, pitching with determination and skill. Max Scherzer, despite a slightly off day, managed to strike out just one but limited the damage, allowing four runs on nine hits over four innings.

Relief pitcher Nance played a crucial role in the game, inducing groundouts from Isaac Collins and striking out Andrew Vaughn with four pitches in the fifth inning.

Unfortunately, Bo Bichette's career-best 14-game hit streak came to an end, as he went 0 for 4 at the plate.

On the Brewers' side, starting pitcher Brandon Woodruff put up a commendable performance, although the Blue Jays' offensive onslaught proved to be too much. Hunter Greene is scheduled to start for the Brewers in their next game.
