Blizzard's botched Druid form rollback leaves WoW players furious over lost progress

Druid players in World of Warcraft recently faced unexpected changes after gaining access to all animal forms—including those meant to be locked behind challenges. Blizzard later removed the unauthorised access, but some players also lost forms they had legitimately earned. The situation has sparked frustration among the community, with many questioning the quality of customer support.

The issue began when Druids temporarily unlocked every animal form, even those requiring completion of the Mage Tower challenge. Normally, six forms—Bear, Cat, Owl/Moonkin, Flight & Swim, Travel, and Tree/Treant—are earned by Haranir Druids through the main campaign questline, such as 'The Frenzied March' and 'Rise of the Haranir.' Players like theenigma77, who had rightfully obtained the 'Moonspirit' form, suddenly found it missing after Blizzard reversed the unintended access.

When players contacted support, responses varied. One Game Master apologised for delays, citing a high volume of tickets, and promised to investigate. Another, however, incorrectly claimed the 'Moonspirit' form was from the Mage Tower and closed the ticket without fixing the issue. Some players eventually recovered their lost forms after submitting multiple requests. The incident has reignited criticism of Blizzard's customer service. Many players suspect the support team relies on AI or poorly trained staff, leading to inconsistent and unhelpful responses.

While Blizzard corrected the unauthorised access, the fallout left some Druids without legitimately earned forms. The situation has further damaged trust in the company's support system. Players continue to push for clearer communication and more reliable assistance from Game Masters.
