Biker collides with automobile on road
In the heart of Kreuzberg yesterday afternoon, a significant road accident occurred on Köpenicker Street towards Schlesisches Tor, around 4:30 PM. The incident involved three vehicles: a motorcycle, a car attempting to turn right into a driveway, and an oncoming car that the motorcyclist slid into after falling.
Initially, the victim was reported as a male motorcyclist. However, it was later revealed that the victim was a 64-year-old woman. She was using the bike lane on the right side of the road to overtake other vehicles when the accident occurred.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, swerved left and collided with the car attempting to turn right. After the impact, she fell into the opposite lane and slid into an oncoming car driven by a 54-year-old man.
Fortunately, the drivers of the car that caused the collision, a 63-year-old woman, and the oncoming car, a 54-year-old man, were both unharmed.
The traffic investigation unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) has taken over the case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The 64-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with severe injuries and was admitted for further treatment. Our thoughts are with her and her family during this difficult time.
This incident serves as a reminder to all road users to exercise caution and patience while driving, especially in busy urban areas like Kreuzberg. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
