Bike Rider Sustains Minor Injuries in Road Mishap: Traffic Incident Report 250731-2
In the small town of Frechen-Bachem, a 39-year-old cyclist was lightly injured in a traffic accident on July 30, 2021. According to a report from the Polizei Rhein-Erft-Kreis, transmitted via news aktuell, the accident occurred at the intersection of Bachemer Straße and Bonnstraße around 7:30 PM.
The incident involved an 80-year-old woman driving a Mercedes. Witness statements suggest that the woman started moving when the traffic light turned green for right-turning vehicles. As a result, there was a collision with the cyclist. The cyclist was thrown off the bike and landed on the hood of the Mercedes before hitting the asphalt.
Emergency services attended to the injured cyclist and transported them to a hospital. Police officers at the scene secured evidence and questioned witnesses. The investigation into the accident was initially conducted by the Rhein-Erft-Kreis Police, but further investigation has been taken over by traffic commissioners.
The woman was traveling on Bachemer Straße towards Bachem, waiting at a red light intending to cross the intersection and turn right. The cyclist was traveling on the bike path of Bonnstraße towards Hürth. A traffic accident report was filed.
