Bike rider (64 years old) sustains injury in road accident at road junction in Ohligs
On Thursday, August 27th, at around 4:15 PM, a traffic accident occurred at the intersection of Mühlenstraße and Kamper Straße in Cologne.
The incident involved a collision between a Kia and a Piaggio scooter. The 64-year-old man operating the scooter suffered severe injuries, and the 43-year-old man behind the wheel of the Kia was also injured, although the extent of his injuries is not currently known.
According to the available information, the 64-year-old man was traveling on Kamper Straße towards Merscheid, while the 43-year-old man was driving the Kia on Mühlenstraße towards Kamper Straße. The reason for the 43-year-old man entering the intersection remains unknown.
Emergency services arrived at the scene promptly and transported both individuals to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The street was closed in the area of the accident for the duration of the rescue operations and accident investigation.
Sadly, both the Kia and the scooter were no longer roadworthy and had to be towed away. The accident caused traffic disruptions in the area, and the street remained closed for several hours.
