Biden's Son Criticizes George Clooney and Other Democrats over Father's Possible 2024 Presidential Bid
In a recent podcast interview, Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, shared his thoughts on the 2024 presidential election and the events leading up to it.
Hunter Biden, who had initially supported his father's bid for a second term, expressed disappointment with the former Vice President's debate performance against Donald Trump in June 2024. This disastrous showing reportedly led to calls for Joe Biden to step down from the campaign.
During the interview, Hunter Biden also criticised George Clooney for his opinion piece in The New York Times, where Clooney called for Joe Biden to drop his presidential bid. The actor had previously supported Biden but changed his stance after the debate performance.
Hunter Biden also addressed the ongoing lawsuit against Patrick Byrne, who allegedly made false claims about his interactions with the Iranian government. In addition, he suggested that his father's debate performance might have been affected by Ambien, a medication given to help him sleep.
The interview also saw Hunter Biden criticising longtime Democrats, including figures closely tied to the party establishment. He accused these individuals of undermining the party's integrity and effectiveness without naming specific names.
James Carville, adviser to former President Bill Clinton, was among those criticised, with Hunter Biden stating that Carville "hasn't run a race in 40 years." David Axelrod, former Obama strategist, was also criticised, with Biden stating that Axelrod had "one success in his political life," and that was Barack Obama.
Despite the criticism, Hunter Biden believes that his father could have won the 2024 presidential election. He also sharply criticised Clooney's opinion about the Democratic Party's nominee.
Hunter Biden's podcast interview comes days before court proceedings in a Los Angeles federal court, where he is set to face charges related to his gun case and guilty plea on tax charges. The President, however, pardoned his son, sparing him a possible prison sentence.
Hunter Biden appeared on a new podcast hosted by Jaime Harrison, where he discussed the disastrous presidential debate and expressed opposition to holding the debate given Trump's recent convictions.
Anita Dunn, a longtime Biden senior adviser, has made "$40 to $50 million" off of work for the Democratic Party, according to Hunter Biden. Tommy Vietor, one of the hosts of "Pod Save America," applauded Hunter Biden's decision to "process the election, look inward, and hold himself accountable for how his family's insular, dare I say arrogant at times, approach to politics led to this catastrophic outcome we're all now living with."
Kamala Harris, who went on to lose to Trump, received Joe Biden's endorsement after he left the race. The podcast interview provides a unique insight into the thoughts and feelings of a key player in the Democratic Party following the 2024 presidential election.
