Biden's former adviser alleges that Representative Tlaib, a member of 'The Squad', prioritizes her activist duties over servicing her constituents.
In a recent interview on 'Fox & Friends', former White House press office chief of staff under President Joe Biden, Yemisi Egbewole, addressed Rep. Rashida Tlaib's controversial remarks and weighed in on President Donald Trump's crime crackdown plans for Chicago.
Tlaib, a Michigan Democrat, made headlines for her actions during Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's July 24 speech to Congress. She silently protested by holding a sign that read "war criminal". This move was criticized by many, including Egbewole.
Egbewole accused Tlaib of prioritizing activist rhetoric over her constituents' needs, stating that she does not sound like a sitting member of Congress, but an activist with no responsibility to her constituents. He believes Tlaib's constituents care about economic opportunity, infrastructure, and safety in their communities.
Egbewole suggested Tlaib should focus less on online commentary and more on issues within her district. However, Tlaib's office did not respond to a request for comment from 'our website Digital'.
In the same interview, Egbewole addressed crime policy amid President Trump's spat with Illinois Democrats over his threat to send National Guard troops to Chicago. He emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to address the issue, focusing on community engagement, education, and job creation.
Taylor Penley, an associate editor with 'our website', also contributed to the discussion. A video featuring Penley's insights is available in the article.
In a separate incident, Tlaib was criticized for her remarks at a pro-Palestinian conference. She told the crowd, "They thought they could kill us, rape us, imprison us, violently uproot us from our olive tree farms, starve our children to death, and we would disappear. Well guess what? Now we're in Congress, and we're in every corner of the United States."
Tlaib responded by saying, "They just don't get it. They will never truly comprehend, even after seven decades, that we aren't going anywhere. We are just getting started."
