The city of Marburg is gearing up for an exciting sports event - the first-ever Marburg Biathlon Relay City Championship. This unique competition will take place on September 13, 2025, at the Erwin-Piscator-Haus, and is part of the Biathlon Germany Tour, which offers 30 city biathlons across Germany in the 2025 season.

Registration for the Marburg Biathlon Relay City Championship is now open and will close on September 3rd. Teams of four can sign up via the provided link. The event is open to individuals aged 12 and above, and no prior biathlon knowledge is required.

The competition involves a 400-meter cross-country skiing race followed by a standing shooting round with five shots. For each missed shot, there will be a 15-second time penalty. Practice shooting for everyone will take place at the biathlon arena on the event day from 11 am to 2 pm.

The top six teams in the Marburg Biathlon Relay City Championship will reach the semi-finals, and the three teams that compete in the final for the city championship title will be determined in these semi-finals. The top teams in the championship will be awarded trophies and additional surprise prizes, including a special prize for the best student team, sponsored by the company SkiBash.

In addition to the main event, a CardioBiathlon duel will also take place, simulating the double poling technique of classic cross-country skiing on Thoraxtrainers. Registration for the CardioBiathlon competition will take place on September 13th at the Biathlon Tour stand.

The Biathlon Germany Tour is known for its guided practice, spontaneous biathlon competitions, and lively biathlon relay city championships. This year, the tour will be at the Erwin-Piscator-Haus in Marburg on September 13th. The mobile biathlon arena will be set up from 11 am to 6 pm.

For those who want to experience being a biathlete for a day, even without snow and real ammunition, the Biathlon Germany Tour offers the opportunity to participate in the Biathlon Tour.
