BetMGM Expands Its Reach with Century Casinos in Missouri Partnership

BetMGM is set to expand its online sports betting presence in Missouri, partnering with Century Casinos to secure access to the state's burgeoning sports betting market ahead of its official launch on December 1, 2025.

The partnership allows BetMGM to operate both online and in-person sportsbooks, including at Century Casinos’ Cape Girardeau location. Missouri bettors will have access to BetMGM’s mobile app, offering a wide range of betting markets across 27 sports, numerous banking options, and the MGM Rewards loyalty program.

Announced on May 27, 2025, this deal positions BetMGM as the first sportsbook to enter Missouri’s market, leveraging Century Casinos’ licensed presence in the state. The company aims to provide a high-quality user experience with quick payout speeds and a well-rated app (4.8/5 iOS, 4.3/5 Android) once sports betting goes live.

The partnership is contingent on obtaining all necessary gaming licenses and regulatory approvals. BetMGM will pay a percentage of its net gaming revenues to Century Casinos, with a guaranteed minimum.

This strategic move represents an opportunity for BetMGM to expand its geographical footprint and grow its US market share. For Century Casinos, the partnership offers the chance to ensure its long-term success in Missouri.

In a joint statement, Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, Century Casinos' co-chief executive officers, praised the partnership, viewing it as another step forward in leveraging their Missouri licenses. Adam Greenblatt, CEO of BetMGM, attributed the performance to the company’s continued momentum and reaffirmed BetMGM’s confidence in achieving full-year positive EBITDA in 2025.

Missouri will allow up to 21 operators in the market, with bettors needing to be 21 years or older to participate. The Missouri Gaming Commission began accepting sports betting license applications on May 15, 2025, and will finalize its regulatory framework by the launch date. Other prominent operators seeking entry include FanDuel, DraftKings, Circa Sports, and Underdog, with some not requiring local casino partnerships.

The financial report leading to this partnership led to a spike in the share price of BetMGM’s co-owner companies, MGM Resorts International and Entain. With Missouri approving legal sports betting, retail sports betting licenses are priced at $250,000, and online licenses cost $500,000. The partnership was formed via Century Casino & Hotel Cape Girardeau subsidiary.
