The CECAFA Kagame Cup is set to return in the 2025/2026 season, with a new sponsor in the form of betting company Betika. The company has signed a contract worth approximately US$324,399 to sponsor the tournament, which is named after H.E. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda.

The tournament features two groups: Group B and Group C. Group B consists of APR FC (the Rwanda Premier League champions), Vipers SC (a team from Uganda), Flambeau du Centre (a team from Burundi), and El Merreikh SC Bentiu (a team from South Sudan). Group C includes Al Hilal Omdurman, Al Ahly SC Wad Madani (both from Sudan), Mogadishu City Club (the champions of the Somalia Premier League), and Kator SC (another team from South Sudan).

The Kagame Cup has a rich history of promoting sports diplomacy, cultural exchange, and regional unity. Last year, Zambia's Red Arrows emerged victorious, defeating Rwanda's APR FC on penalties in the final.

As the tournament gears up for its next edition, Betika's sponsorship is set to bring excitement and anticipation to the competition. With a diverse lineup of teams from across the region, the Kagame Cup promises to be a thrilling display of football talent and camaraderie.
