In the heart of the city, a new square has been named after a celebrated figure in Berlin's entertainment scene - Harald Juhnke. The square, located at the intersection of Kurfürstendamm, Grolmanstrasse, and Uhlandstrasse, was officially opened on September 29, 2025.

For nearly five decades, Juhnke was a dominant figure in the entertainment industry, making his mark in theater and German television. Born in Charlottenburg, Juhnke appeared in numerous series, films, and theater productions, and was nationally recognised as an actor, singer, and showmaster.

The square is situated near the Ku'damm stages, a place closely linked to Juhnke's artistic work. Berlin's Governing Mayor, Kai Wegner, declared that naming the square honours Juhnke's life's work, while District Councilor Oliver Schruoffeneger stated that Juhnke embodies the spirit and humour of Berlin like no other.

Juhnke's long-time manager and family representative, Peter Wolf, expressed his happiness and gratitude about the square. As a multitalent in the entertainment industry, Juhnke was also known for his work as a voice actor, lending his voice to numerous Hollywood greats.

Shows like "A Crazy Pair" and "Music is Trump" were audience magnets, and for these contributions, Juhnke is considered one of Germany's greatest entertainers. However, Juhnke's alcohol consumption often made headlines, and he died in April 2005 after suffering from dementia.

Peter Wolf, speaking at the official inauguration, stated that Juhnke would be delighted with the square. Both politicians plan to officially open the square at the end of September, honouring a man who left an indelible mark on Berlin's entertainment scene.
