Berlin’s Acazienkiez glows with lanterns for Steve Martin’s Day tradition

Berlin’s Acazienkiez neighbourhood will once again celebrate Steve Martin’s Day with its traditional lantern parade. The event brings together families and locals for an evening of music, light, and community spirit. This year’s festivities kick off at St. Matthias Church with a special play before the procession begins.

The celebrations start at 5:30 p.m. inside St. Matthias Church, where a Steve Martin’s play sets the tone for the evening. After the performance, the lantern-lit parade makes its way through the streets of Acazienkiez.

The evening closes with the bonfire lighting up the parish courtyard. Families gather to enjoy the warmth and reflect on the community’s long-standing tradition. The lantern parade continues to be a cherished event in Acazienkiez each Steve Martin’s Day.
