BC triumphs in a landslide victory over Fordham, as Dylan Lonergan tosses four touchdown passes

In a spectacular opening performance, Dylan Lonergan, the new quarterback for the Boston College Eagles, threw for 268 yards and four touchdowns in his debut, leading the Eagles to a dominating 59-10 victory over the Fordham Rams.

Lonergan showcased his prowess early, finding three different receivers for touchdowns. Jaedn Skeete was a favourite target, catching passes for scores of 13 and 11 yards, and also twice in the first half. Other recipients included Jordan McDonald, Reed Harris, and Pough, each finding the end zone once.

The Eagles posted an impressive 21-3 halftime lead, scoring 24 points in the third quarter to further extend their advantage. Lonergan completed 26 out of 34 passes, demonstrating his accuracy and command of the offense.

In the fourth quarter, Grayson James relieved Lonergan and went 5-for-5 for 190 yards and a score. The identity of the quarterback replaced by James was not provided. James capped the Eagles' scoring with a 22-yard pass to Pough.

Fordham struggled to find the end zone, held out until quarterback Gunnar Smith's 1-yard touchdown run with five minutes left. Earlier in the game, they managed a 46-yard field goal by Bennett Henderson in their first series. Alex Broome and true freshman Bo MacCormack III scored touchdowns on late James-led drives.

Defensively, Daveon Crouch was a standout for the Eagles. He recorded six tackles, a sack, and a 28-yard interception return for a touchdown, highlighting his impact on the game.

Lewis Bond had a career-high 11 catches for 138 yards, showcasing the Eagles' potent receiving corps. Richard also contributed with a 4-yard touchdown run for the Eagles. Lombardo extended the lead to 31-3 with a 48-yard field goal, rounding off a comprehensive victory for Boston College.
