Bauhaus Switzerland officially launches in Losone

On August 22, 2025, Dr. Christoph Theler, CEO of BAUHAUS Switzerland, announced the expansion of BAUHAUS's presence in Switzerland with the opening of a new specialty center in Losone, Canton of Ticino. This marks the first BAUHAUS location in Ticino, strengthening its position in the Swiss market.

Previously a DIY retail store owned by the Migros Group, the new specialty center in Losone will now be operated by BAUHAUS. The 2,700 square meter store will feature a compact range of high-quality products, introducing the small footprint concept for the first time in a BAUHAUS specialty center.

This new concept allows for a wide range of products to be offered on a smaller sales area, making shopping more efficient and convenient for customers. Each BAUHAUS specialty center is divided into 15 specialist departments, ensuring a comprehensive selection of products for home, garden, and workshop needs.

The opening of the Losone specialty center is part of BAUHAUS Switzerland's growth and expansion strategy in the country. The company, a specialist retailer with over 160 specialty centers in Germany and representation in 19 countries across Europe, is committed to its basic concept of specialist trade quality and product variety at the best prices.

The acquisition of the Losone site was facilitated by Migros Group's shift in focus to supermarkets. The market in Pfungen, Canton of Zürich, will also be taken over by BAUHAUS and will open in mid-September, following the same concept as the Losone specialty center.
