Autumnal Nuts Harvest, Cultivated Fruits, and Unrestrained Jungles
In the heart of Düsseldorf, nature lovers are invited to embark on a series of exciting tours organised by the Garden Office. Here's a rundown of the upcoming events:
Autumn Nature Study Tour
Join Jörg Schwenzfeier-Brohm on Sunday, September 15th, at 2 pm, for a nature study tour through the Urdenbacher Kämpe nature reserve. This tour promises a vibrant display of autumn crocuses, bellflowers, field sage, cornflower, broomrape, and meadow buttercup. The meeting point is the "Piels Loch" parking lot at the corner of Baumberger Weg and Drängenburgstraße. Registration can be made by phone at 0211 89-94800 or by email at [email protected].
Wild and Cultivated Fruits Tours
For those interested in botany, two wild and cultivated fruits tours are scheduled. On Thursday, September 12th, at 5:15 pm, biologist Pia Kamberg will lead a tour in the Himmelgeister Rheinbogen nature reserve. The meeting point is the Kölner Weg hiking parking lot.
On a separate date, the details for the wild and cultivated fruits tour through the Hubbelrath Golf Course are yet to be announced.
Wild Autumn Crocus Excursion
On Wednesday, September 11th, at 4 pm, a wild autumn crocus excursion will take place in the Urdenbacher Kämpe, led by biologist Dr. Regina Thebud-Lassak. The meeting point is the Baumberger Weg hiking parking lot.
Tour Registration and Information
Prior registration with the Garden Office is required for participation. A brochure with more details about the tours is available at the Town Hall, Marktplatz 2, the Garden Office, Kaiserswerther Straße 390, and in the citizen's offices. Tour Details
Each tour lasts approximately 2.5 hours and takes place in all weather conditions. The maximum number of participants for each tour is 25. Spontaneous discoveries along the way may enrich the nature study tour in the Urdenbacher Kämpe.
Fees and Eligibility
A fee of 2.50 euros per adult will be charged for the tours. Children under 14 years old can participate for free.
